BERNAT KLEIN 1970s Unique Silk Jersey Fabric Belted Skirt & Blouse
Rare Bernat Klein signature silk jersey fabric belted skirt and blouse.
Bernat Klein was a Serbian born Scottish textile designer and artist whose textile design has featured in several mainstream fashion collection and art installations. In 1962, Coco Chanel chose Klein's textile for the house's entire Spring/Summer collection. Other prominent fashion houses like Dior, Yves Saint Laurent,Balenciaga and the likes soon followed.
This dress is of the 'Red into Fuschia' 1971 painting. The fabric is on display at the V&A museum and also at the Edinburgh Museum of Modern Art, National Galleries Scotland.
